From drawings to a finished deck
Every job follows the same order of work. Send the engineer's layout and we will price the stages you need.
Survey & layout
We review the beam layout, spans and bearings against the drawings and check access for deliveries.
Supply
Beams and blocks ordered to the schedule and called off to suit your programme.
Substructure
Bearing and sleeper walls built to level, DPC laid and the oversite prepared.
Install
Beams placed at the specified centres and infill blocks laid between them.
Grout & hand over
Joints grouted and brushed in. The deck is left clean and ready for the next trade.
Masonry
Where needed, our bricklayers carry on with the superstructure so the site keeps moving.
About us
Founded by builders who have done it all
Imperial Block and Beam was founded in 2026 by Olly Brown and Paul Gilchrist, two builders with more than forty years in construction between them.
Olly and Paul have each built and run successful construction businesses across almost every part of the trade: new builds and large housing developments, renovations and refits, small bespoke projects and specialist brick cutting. They know what a site manager needs from a subcontractor because they have been on both sides of that conversation many times.
Block and beam flooring is where they saw the biggest gap. Too often the floor is split between a supplier, a groundworker and a bricklayer, and the programme suffers at every handover. Imperial Block and Beam brings supply, preparation, installation and masonry into one team with one point of contact.
It is the latest addition to the Imperial brand, alongside Imperial Brickwork, and is held to the same standard: careful setting out, tidy sites and work done properly the first time.
